Call of Duty: Black Ops Review

Having COD: MW2 being my real first COD experience it's hard to take this game seriously. First of all let me say on top of the graphics being horrible (except in story mode) I bought this for the multiplayer as with the other COD games that's pretty much what people play for "the online experience". Well Treyarch decided it would be best to pay the most attention to detail in the story mode and only the story mode. Just attempting to pull up the online menu you have to wait because the game is super slow. I'm not sure if it has to do with the servers or just the game itself but expect to wait to access the online section and get a game started.

The graphics remind me of Sega Dreamcast, the sound effects are a joke (when you walk it sounds like you're being followed by a gang of people) among other things. What makes me hate this game the most is on top of them completely messing up the multiplayer they DESTROYED my beloved FAMAS and made it an automatic weapon. Not to mention machine guns are the strongest weapons on the game and shotguns can only being used as a PRIMARY weapon ONLY yes I repeat you can NOT have a shotgun as a secondary weapon. Seriously who walks around with a shotgun trying to kill people from a distance? That fact pretty much killed the idea of keeping this game for me.

The killstreaks also are horrendous...uavs are 2 kills and rc cars are 3 kills in a row. Since the way this COD is setup to where you only get your killstreaks by shooting/knifing other players it's very hard to get a high killstreak but ANYONE can get an rc car so if you are in fact working on a killstreak it can be messed up at anytime by one of the million rc cars that float around during the game.

Pros: A lot of people are online. Story mode is great (I've been told).
Cons: The servers are pretty much unplayable. The game is complete trash unless you are a noob that could never get killstreaks in a real game like MW2.
